A Spectacular Ending to An Incredible Event

In what was arguably the highest skill level competition in Pro Footvolley Tour history – a new Champion was crowned: Felipe & Gustavo Elias. The two 18-year-old fraternal twins started footvolley at 14 yeas old in Vinhedo, Sao Paulo. From there they began training with top professional athletes eventually coming to America to attend University of Miami (FL). A welcome addition on the Tour – the athletes whom have competed previously finally broke through and this time for the title.

‘They’re a nice addition that will raise the level of the competition. We welcome it and now have a tougher challenge ahead. It’s great for the sport and the Tour!’
– Jonathan Silva on staying positive after the Championship defeat

‘Training matters. We made a concerted effort this time around and the results show it’
– Felipe Elias on winning the event.

Lucas Ramos – had quite a weekend – the MVP on Saturday

Early on, the favorites left their mark by beating Lobato/Ramos 25-20 in Group A. The favorites were Mendonca/Silva. As the competition continued; however, the fraternal twins began raising eyebrows with wins over Teodoro/Soares and De Paula/Gomes. First the defending Champs from Ocean City, MD (Stop 6) went down. Then the local stellar squad of Super-Teen Matteo De Paula with veteran Leo Gomes. A clear two-man race was beginning to unfold.

Championship Match
It became clear after convincing semi-final wins that the two undefeated squads Silva/Mendonca & Elias/Elias were the two best teams in the competition. What became a shocking result was the way the final went. Felipe/Gustavo executed flawlessly and defending with intelligence. That combination was simply too mechanical and consistent. The new Champions proved that whatever adjustments they needed to make they did from previous events. Felipe/Gustavo now stand as Kings of the Beach and Champions of Stop 7 of the 2025 Pro Footvolley Tour presented by Genius Sports.
