All Smiles on All-Star Sunday!

From an intense Saturday evening that had the competitors playing till just before dark, the Tour stars returned to the sand on Sunday.  Whatever they ate for breakfast worked because the action was just as intense – if not more – compared to Saturday!   From Mixed Doubles – with the debuts of Maria Mendes (Philadelphia, PA) and Maria Ventura (Arlington, VA) – to the star-studded Challenge Matches and the International Match with Team USA … Sunday was another day that kept fans in their seats until … they couldn’t anymore!  A first on the Pro Footvolley Tour – as fans stormed for one GARGANTUAN SELFIE!   An absolute wonderful close to the 2025 Ocean City (MD) Pro Footvolley Tour!

Mixed Doubles

Two Maria debutantes made a spectacular entrance to the Tour – competing in two mixed matches.   Maria Ventura ended up winning both her matches; but a new rivalry (and potential partnership) has been formed!  In the first Mixed match, Ventura partnered with Lucas Paes.  That match went the distance with the duo barely edging out Lobato/Mendes.

Team USA faced Brazilian All-Stars
In what could have been an Olympic preview – Team USA’s Lobato/Lube faced Paes/Teodoro.  What a match!  The Brazilians edged out the Americans 25-21 in an emotionally charged match that had the crowd thoroughly enjoyed.

Teodoro/Paes (Brazil) edged out Lobato/Lube (USA) in a thrilling match

Challenge Matches
Sunday also featured Tour stars in Challenge Matches.

Bruninho Soares (defending Champ) didn’t ease up on Sunday winning various tough matches.  Here, with Pedro Lube, he defeated Barreto/Santana.
