Melony Has A Big Day!

Saturday at Stop 8 delivered a gritty, high-level showcase of footvolley under challenging conditions. Strong winds and overcast skies made ball control difficult throughout the day, forcing athletes to rely on touch, patience, and tactical awareness rather than power alone. Despite the elements, the matches featured some of the best female footvolley athletes in the game, competing across both women’s doubles and mixed doubles formats.

The day unquestionably belonged to Melony Blanco, who put together a standout performance across multiple partnerships. Blanco showed consistency, composure, and adaptability in the wind, picking up key wins in both women’s and mixed doubles play and proving once again why she’s one of the most versatile players on tour.

Women’s doubles action was intense from the opening whistle, with long rallies and smart shot selection defining many of the matches. Blanco and Daniela Diaz were especially sharp, earning back-to-back wins over strong pairings, while other teams battled through tight scorelines that reflected just how unforgiving the conditions were.

Mixed doubles brought another layer of strategy, as teams worked to balance coverage and communication in the wind. Several matches went down to the wire, with momentum swings driven as much by weather management as by athletic execution.

Overall, Saturday’s Stop 8 action highlighted the depth of talent in the women’s field and the growing competitiveness of mixed doubles. In tough conditions that tested every aspect of the game, the athletes delivered high-quality footvolley — with Melony Blanco’s big day standing out as one of the defining storylines.
