                                   Jonathan Silva Finally Sees Defeat

Jonathan Silva (Deerfield Beach, FL) won the Double-Double at Stop 2.   Yesterday – Silva went undefeated.  He’s been on a tear recently and came into Stop 3 as favorites alongside his partner Lucas Lopes (Jupiter, FL).  Lopes a crafty athlete that won’t deliver SportsCenter highlights; but generally is mistake free.  The team had little doubt they’d win Stop 3.

Gustavo Elias (Sao Paulo, Brazil) came up short at Stop 2 playing alongside super-teen Enzo de Paula (Coconut Creek, FL) and was determined to exact some revenge coming into today’s competition.  His partner Pedro Lube (Miami Beach, FL) is a Tour veteran that provides stability and adds a decent Shark Attack to compliment Gustavo.  Recall that both athletes are regarded as among the elite in setting on the Tour.

Another athlete determined to make-up for a Stop 2 collapse is Lucas Paes (Boca Raton, FL).  Alongside Gabriel Souza (Orlando, FL) they smelled the Championship Trophy with a 21-9 lead to only draw blanks and eventually lose to Jonathan Silva & Fabricio Baronkowski (Denver, CO).  That loss stung.

The competition went somewhat as expected with Jonathan Silva & Lucas Lopes reaching the Final.  There – they met a tough Pedro Lube & Gustavo Elias.  Match was decided by a Shark Attack – credit Gustavo Elias with the clutch shot and credit to Pedro Lube with the perfect set.

‘They didn’t serve me all tournament long; but for some strange reason they did on that last play.  One Shark would decide it and I went for it!’
– Gustavo Elias on winning Stop 3
