SuperBoy – Saturday’s Big Winner
With lower-tiered athletes playing in qualifiers, the Stars of the Tour participated in the much hyped – always living up to its billing – Challenge Matches.  The two biggest ones on Saturday were William ‘SuperBoy’ Lobato & Gustavo Teodoro VS.  Jonathan ‘Wonderkid’ Silva and Joao Schimming.  The hype around these matches is due to Jonathan’s quest to repeat another Championship Win; but this time with a new partner.  This new partner hasn’t been seen on the Tour since 2021.  Well how did the new duo fare?   First some shots from the matches!

Silva’s new partner – Schimming with an impressive 2-point Shark Attack

Gustavo Teodoro didn’t miss a beat on his return to the Tour – even after a full semester of College Soccer …

In two stunning matches, Teodoro/Lobato were able to pull-away and beat Silva/Schimming.  The first match 25 – 18 and the second match in an absolute thriller 25-23.

Other Matches
With two wins under his belt, Lobato opted for Menezes in another Challenge Match against the same rivals as before.  Unfortunately for the ‘SuperBoy’ Menezes isn’t at the same level of Teodoro.  The switch in partnerships proved costly as this time, Silva/Schimming were convincing victors at 25-17.

Mixed Doubles

Lobato/Brunworth faced Bronkowski/Montemor twice and came away victorious twice.  In the first match, the match was competitive with William & Kaitlyn edging the guys 25-19.  In Match 2, the mixed team just ran away 25-13.

Other Matches
Menezes went with Lobato and beat Montemor/Teodoro 25 – 21.   Two ‘super high-flyers’ Schimming/Teodoro took it to Menezes/Montemor 25 – 14 in a total beat-down match.  In the important qualifier matches, Menezes/Lobato went 2-0.  Montemor/Teodoro edged Baroncoski/Schimming.
