World Champions of Footvolley To be Crowned in Miami Beach this Weekend!
Everything is on the line for the top footvolley athletes on the planet. A World Championship to be exact.
For Team USA – a moment that everyone has been waiting for … for too long!
The 2025 Miami Beach World Open, presented by City of Miami Beach and Genius Sports, is this weekend.
‘Footvolley NEEDS to be an Olympic Sport and we couldn’t be more grateful to compete for Team USA’
– Will ‘SuperBoy’ Lobato
Here’s how it will work:
Six Team will play two tournaments. The first tournament is Saturday May 24th. The winner on Saturday brings ‘that win to Sunday’. Think of winning the first leg of a play-off.
The second tournament – with the same 6 international teams plus two Pro Footvolley Tour invites- will be Sunday May 25th.
If there’s a different winner on Sunday … then Sunday evening the stage is set for the Finalissma!
The Finalissima would pit Saturday’s winner versus Sunday’s winner – for the 2025 World Championship!
If Sunday’s winner is a repeat of Saturday … then there is no need for that extra final match.
This event serves as a ‘pre-Olympic competition’. What would footvolley look like at the next Olympics? Well … this is a glimpse of that.
So yes … #FootvolleyLA2028 for sure!
