Tour Stars to Compete for Country Pride

The 5th stop of the 2024 Pro Footvolley Tour, presented by Genius Sports, will feature Tour athletes competing for country pride.  The league has a long history of international athletes and this will be a tournament that will have athletes giving their all while sporting national jerseys.

From Espirito Santo, Brazil to repping the Selecao of Footvolley
Back in 2017, long-time friends Bruno Milhomens and Gustavo Teodoro had just got into a new sport: footvolley.  Both played competitive soccer and when not at practice footvolley was it.  Fast forward to the 2019/2020 pandemic and soccer stopped.  Enter footvolley!  ‘Brazil came to a complete halt during the pandemic.  Luckily for Bruno and I, we took advantage of my family’s farm [I have a rural background] and we set-up a footvolley court there.  We must have played 6 hours every day.  We went from just enjoying footvolley to wanting to beat the best at it!’  Milhomens and Teodoro did just that at the 3rd Stop of the 2024 Pro Footvolley Tour.  The athletes beat both Victor Martinez/Thiago Cunha in the final; but first had to get through Lobato/Davalos in the Semi’s.  Not an easy path to victory.

‘Representing Brazil is a dream come true … but I won 3 stops this year and deserve it! – Gustavo Teodoro

The Americans Try to Extend Home – Court Glory
In 2023, Team USA Footvolley won the four major international competitions it competed in.  Jonathan Silva was the big winner and remains a heavy favorite to repeat past success.

‘Been at this for some time; but it never gets old when representing Team USA’ – Fernando Plentz in anticipation of the event

‘We always take these international competitions seriously.  Our sport deserves to be an Olympic one and fans will see why.’  – Jonathan Silva

Fernando Plentz, Will Lobato, and Danny Mendonca are some of the Tour stars expected to return donning the traditional Red USA Footvolley jerseys.

The Paraguayans – Victor Martinez and Moises Davalos will represent the South American land-locked nation once again.
‘The Shark Attacks have been our achiles heel; but Moises has added this to his game so we are more prepared this time around’. – Victor Martinez
